Therapy for Helping Professionals
As an Educator, First Responder, Health Care Provider or Military Veteran, I see how much you hold and how deeply you care.
Maybe it feels like no matter what you do, it’s never enough. Maybe you are feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, wondering if you are really cut out for this line of work. Maybe your tireless dedication to others is taking a toll on your own mental health and relationships.
As someone who has worked alongside those at the frontlines of human suffering for 20 years, I am intimately aware of the unique challenges, complex patterns and systemic realities of being a helping professional.
I offer a supportive and safe environment, where you share without judgement while taking care of yourself. Together we will explore how your profession is impacting you, and what you need to continue doing good work in the world in a healthy, fulfilling, sustainable way.
I work with helping professionals who are experiencing:
Imposter syndrome – Doubts about your own abilities, despite your training and accomplishments
Compassion fatigue – Emotional and physical exhaustion, often accompanied by decreased empathy due to prolonged exposure to suffering and the demands of caring for others
Moral injury – When our professional encounters conflict with our personal and deeply held moral beliefs
Burnout and mental fatigue – Exhaustion from consistently providing care; difficulty setting boundaries without the weight of shame or guilt
Vicarious trauma – Witnessing the suffering of others takes an emotional toll on your mental health
Relationship strain – The demands of the work can make it difficult to maintain personal relationships
Helping others should not come at the cost of your own wellbeing.
