As a licensed psychologist, I am qualified to offer psychological assessment and diagnosis.

However, as someone who does not believe in pathologizing normal responses to human circumstances, I only offer this to existing clients on a case-by-case basis. Rather than seeing assessment and diagnosis as a requirement for treatment, I use my extensive training and knowledge of mental health diagnosis to better inform my work while focusing on the root cause(s).

Psychological assessments are typically conducted to establish or clarify diagnosis in response to a Third-Party Payer referral. It involves an in-depth interview, as well as the administration of standardized measures of personality and emotional functioning. The outcome of the assessment may be the diagnosis of one or more psychological disorders or a description of findings without any diagnosis.
