“There is a Story
behind every person”

I have always been drawn to support the suffering, be it in society, or within ourselves.

From helping others in need as a child, to working with incarcerated men as a Forensic Psychologist, to supporting my private practice clients through anxiety, burnout, and trauma, the question that drives me is never “what’s wrong with you?”, but “what happened to you?”.

I believe that humanizing our rejected parts is crucial to our personal and collective healing. It is how we undo our aloneness and become whole again. Throughout my 13-years of working as a Forensic Psychologist within a correctional setting, I strived to honour every person’s inherent worth. When you give time and space to listen to those who think differently or come from a different path, you will learn there is a story behind every person. Our stories are what unite us in our humanity, and hold the keys for deeper understanding and healing.

The more I do this work, the more I feel called to support helping professionals as well.

Throughout my career, I have witnessed and supported colleagues working tirelessly through stress, burnout, vicarious trauma, toxicity, and compassion fatigue. Observing the suffering and voicelessness of my co-workers (from all disciplines) ignited a new professional passion of mine.

I felt called to find a way to address the need for effective and confidential therapy that felt safe and welcoming, where helping professionals feel their unique experiences are deeply understood. As such, I took a leap and established my own private practice for those that give so much of themselves in service of others, be it educators, first responders, health care providers, or military veterans.

Today, it is a privilege and honour to be able to support the healing and overall wellbeing of helping professionals so they can shift from surviving to thriving, while continuing to help others.

“Before every session I take a moment to remember my humanity. There is no experience that this man has that I cannot share with him, no fear I cannot understand, no suffering that I cannot care about, because I too am human. No matter how deep his wound, he does not need to be ashamed in front of me. I too am vulnerable. And because of this, I am enough. Whatever his story, he no longer needs to be alone with it. This is what will allow healing to begin.”
